Runtime exit(int) in Java

exit(int): This method is available in the java.lang.Runtime class of Java.

Syntax:

void java.lang.Runtime.exit(int status)

This method takes one argument. This method terminates the currently running Java virtual machine by initiating its shutdown sequence. This method never returns normally.

The argument serves as a status code; by convention, a nonzero status code indicates abnormal termination.

Parameters: One parameter is required for this method.

status: Termination status. By convention, a nonzero status code indicates abnormal termination.

Returns: NA

Throws:

1. SecurityException - If a security manager is present and its checkExit method does not permit exiting with the specified status.
