Runtime halt(int) in Java

halt(int): This method is available in the java.lang.Runtime class of Java.

Syntax:

void java.lang.Runtime.halt(int status)

This method takes one argument. This method forcibly terminates the currently running Java virtual machine.

This method never returns normally.

This method should be used with extreme caution. Unlike the exit method, this method does not cause shutdown hooks to be started. If the shutdown sequence has already been initiated then this method does not wait for any running shutdown hooks to finish their work.

Parameters: One parameter is required for this method.

status: Termination status. By convention, a nonzero status code indicates abnormal termination.

Throws:

1. SecurityException - If a security manager is present and its checkExit method does not permit an exit with the specified status.

Approach

Java

package com.Runtime;

public class RuntimegetRuntime {
    public static void main(String[] args) {

        Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime();

        System.out.println(runtime);
    }
}

Output:

Halt
